Physical Therapist Assistant
Position Summary Responsible for directing, modifying and administering the physical therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the staff physical therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the staff physical therapist, after the physical therapist has evaluated the patient. The PTA aids with the resoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, diesease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. General ResponsibilityCarries out instructions and authority concerning treatment procedures and daily department operations as delegated and determined by the Physical Therapist. Assists with formulation of a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning. Requirements A.A. degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, and/or holds a current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
