Meet Our StaffOur experienced staff members include: Kevin Mays, MD, is the psychiatric medical director of Cass Regional's Behavioral Health Unit. Dr. Mays earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri—Kansas City and received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Rosanne Parks, RN, BSN, MSN, is the program director of the BHU. She has over 12 years of experience in the mental health field, and has worked with patients of all ages. Parks has also worked as a quality management director, corporate compliance officer, patient study coordinator, and patient safety officer. She has also been trained in CPI, CALM, MANDT and SECURE crisis alleviation methods. Parks received her graduate and undergratuate degrees from the University of Central Missouri, with a focus on rural and family nursing and nursing education.
Rhonda Martin, RN, is the nurse manager of the BHU. Martin has over 17 years of experience in the mental health field and working with the elderly. She obtained her licensed practical nursing (LPN) degree prior to receiving her registered nurse degree from State Fair Community College in 2000. She is also a certified CMT/CNA instructor.
Colleen Recker, LCSW, LSCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri and Kansas) is the social worker for the unit. She completed her master's degree in social work from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2007, and her bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Central Missouri in 1995. She has been working in the social work field for 15 years with various populations and joined the unit in March of 2010.
Michelle Stewart, RN, is the community resource nurse for SAGE Behavioral Health Services. Stewart graduated from Avila University with a bachelor of science in nursing in 1973. She graduated from UMKC with master's in business administration in 1982. She has over 37 years of nursing experience and has worked in such areas as pediatrics, critical care, case management and psychiatry.
