Medical ImagingBelow is information on many of Cass Regional's imaging services:Biopsy: Ultrasound guided needle, ultrasound guided abscess drainage, paracentesis and thoracentesis biopsies are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. CT Scanning: Computed tomography (CT) scans of the brain, soft tissue neck, sinus and facial bones, chest, P.E., abdomen and pelvis, appendix, spine, upper and lower extremities, angiography and guided biopsy are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dexa/Bone Density: Dexa/bone density testing is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Digital Mammography: Digital mammography with CAD is available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, from 7:00 a.m. until noon. Breast sonography is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and on call. Needle localization breast biopsies are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and MRI of the breast is available from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. MRI Imaging: Brain, brain stem, bone marrow bleed, MR angiography-brain, MR angiography-neck, MRI IACs, pituitary, orbit, TMJ, abdomen, breast, pelvis, MR angiography-abdomen, MR angiography-chest, pelvis, MR upper and lower extremities, spine and MR angiography-pelvis are available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Nuclear Medicine: Bone scan, biliary, thyroid, gastric emptying study, GI blood loss scan, lung scan, liver, spleen, renal scan and renal captopril is available Monday through Friday, starting at 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Nuclear Medicine Heart Studies: Nuclear stress testing, pharmacological nuclear stress and muga scan is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. PET/CT: PET/CT combines the functional information from a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) exam with anatomical information from a Computed Tomography (CT) exam in one single exam. This procedure is available every Thursday. Click here for more information. Radiology: Routine X-rays, myeolograms (cervical, thoracic and lumbar), hysterosalpingiograms, arthrograms, sialograms, Dobbhoff placement and PICC line placement are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Fluoroscopy (GI, barium enema, air contrast barium enema, barium swallow and esophograms) are available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sonography: Abdominal, pelvic, transvaginal pelvic, OB, aorta, chest, breast, kidney, liver, neck (soft tissue), pancreas, testicle and thyroid sonograms are available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and can be performed by an on-call technologist after hours and on weekends, if necessary. Stereotactic Breast Biopsy: Stereotactic breast biopsy is a mammographically guided biopsy where a special mammography machine uses ionizing radiation to help guide the radiologist's instruments to the site of the abnormal growth. This procedure can be performed Monday through Friday. Transesophageal Echo (TEE): Transesophageal echo (TEE) is a type of echo in which the ultrasound transducer, positioned on an endoscope, is guided down a patient's throat into the esophagus. The TEE test provides a closer look at the heart's valves and chambers, without the interference from the ribs or lungs. This test can only be performed at the request of a cardiologist. Cass Regional performs TEE tests Tuesday through Friday. Vascular Sonography: Carotid doppler, venous sonography, arterial, ABIs, and renal dopplers are available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. All imaging tests and procedures can be scheduled through Cass Regional's Central Scheduling Department by calling (816) 380-5888, extension 7880.
