Meet Our StaffCass Regional's experienced Lab staff includes:
Barbara M. Shideler, MD, pathologist, of Physician's Reference Laboratory (PRL), is the medical director of our Laboratory. Dr. Shideler has regularly scheduled meetings with our Lab manager to discuss technical issues, new tests, and process improvement. She oversees all of the inpatient and outpatient care testing performed at Cass Regional. Dr. Shideler attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Pathology, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, and is licensed in Kansas and Missouri. Dr. Shideler is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, College of American Pathologists, Kansas City Society of Pathologists, and United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
Christine Schimpf, MT (ASCP), is our Lab manager. Schimpf has over 15 years of lab experience. She earned her bachelor of science degree in chemistry and bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Missouri State University. Schimpf is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), and is a member of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA).
Sandy Hyatt, MT (ASCP), has over 30 years of lab experience. She received her bachelor of science degree in medical technology from William Jewell College and her master of arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Christine Bremser, MT (ASCP), has over 35 years of lab experience. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor of science degree in medical technology and clinical laboratory science. Bremser is a member of the Autonomous Systems and Control Laboratory (ASCL) and the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA).
Stacy Robey, phlebotomist, has over 11 years of hospital and clinical phlebotomy experience. She is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
Casey Keyton, MA, has over ten years of lab experience. She earned her associate of arts degree from Longview Community College, and is certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA).
Deana Vermillion is Cass Regional's lead phlebotomist and has over 20 years of experience. Vermillion currently teaches a phlebotomy certification course at Cass Career Center, which is located in Harrisonville, Mo.
Cheri Powell has over 10 years of phlebotomy experience, most of which has been as a reference laboratory technician.
Summer Doles, MA, has been a phlebotomist since 2009.
Mary Stupp has both hospital and clinical phlebotomy experience.
Becky Charlton, MT (ASCP), is a lead technician at Cass Regional. She has over 24 years of experience in her field, including management.
Michelle Lloyd, MT(ASCP), is a lead technician at Cass Regional with over 27 years of experience, including management.
Pragna Patel, BS, MLT (ASCP), has over 24 years of experience in hospital and clinical settings.
Marilyn Kurian, MLT (ASCP), has over 26 years of experience. She has worked at Cass Regional for over 20 years.
Marilyn Nelson, MLT (ASCP), has over 19 years of experience in her field, and has been with Cass Regional for 19 years.
Frank Blew, MT, has over 46 years of experience and has been with Cass Regional for seven years.
Dan Allen, MT, has over 33 years of Laboratory experience.
Wendi Dooley, RN, ANN, is the Ancillary nurse navigator. She has a bachelor of science degree in nursing and has been with Cass Regional for 22 years.
Becky Eckes, MLT (ASCP), has over five years of hospital experience.
Marilyn Butler, MT (ASCP), has a bachelor of science in medical technology and has over 31 years of hospital experience.
Ronda Donovan, EMT, is a phlebotomist with over 15 years of experience.
Joanna Erickson is ASCP certified and works as a phlebotomist.
