Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Cass Regional Medical Center's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department consists of a team of health professionals who provide pulmonary rehab patients with the information and support they need to meet the day-to-day challenges of living with chronic lung disorder. Our staff members work in conjunction with the Cardiac Rehab Department staff to provide an individualized program designed to build endurance and strength in patients with reduced lung function or disease. Through individualized treatment consisting of education, exercise, breathing retraining, support groups, and the development of coping and support skills, our program is designed to control and reduce the symptoms and complications of pulmonary disease, increase physical strength and endurance, which helps reduce hospitalizations and health care expenses for our patients. Our goals are to restore the highest possible level of independent function for our patients, decrease feelings of anxiety and depression, improve quality of life for our patients and their families and increase independence and improve self-confidence.
