American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR and Stop the Bleed Class
Cass Regional Medical Center will host a free American Heart Association (AHA) Family & Friends CPR Class along with the Stop the Bleed educational program on Tuesday, March 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in Conference Rooms 1 and 2, located directly inside the main entrance of Cass Regional at 2800 E. Rock Haven Road in Harrisonville.
AHA Family & Friends CPR Class:
The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a CPR course completion card to meet a job requirement. This course is ideal for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life.
Stop the Bleed:
Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within 5 to 10 minutes. However, with proper training anyone at the scene can act as an immediate responder. The Stop the Bleed program includes instruction and practice on proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use your hands, dressings, and tourniquets.
The Family & Friends CPR Class and the Stop the Bleed educational program is free to the public. To register or to learn more about this event, please contact Paula McBride, RN, CEN, at 816.380.5888, extension 3841, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
