Tammy Cantrell, medical receptionist at Cass Regional Orthopedics, and Andrea Martin, Dietary Department cashier, were named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employees of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2022. Chief Executive Officer Chris Lang made the announcement Thursday, May 19, during a reception.
Cantrell, who has been a Cass Regional employee for more than eight years, was nominated by Sheila Curtis, clinic manager. Cantrell was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.
“I was very shocked,” Cantrell said. “My co-workers thought I would cry, but I think I was too shocked!”
The nomination letter described Cantrell as a dedicated, kind employee who is an asset to Cass Regional. “Tammy is the most positive person I know,” said Curtis. “Her positivity adds so much value to our entire team.”
Cantrell said the best part about working at Cass Regional is her co-workers and being close to home. “It is rewarding to help take care of our patients,” Cantrell said.
Cantrell resides in Harrisonville. She is a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and has been matched with Lacie for nearly four years. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her nephews play baseball, spending time with Lacie, shopping and making wreaths.
Martin, who has been a Cass Regional employee for over five years, was nominated by Jessica Patterson, RN, Emergency Department. Martin was also selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.
“I was shocked when I found out I was Employee of the Quarter! I feel honored to have been nominated,” Martin said.
The nomination letter described Martin as friendly, hardworking and a dedicated employee. “She cares about everyone and takes the time to ask how your day is going,” said Patterson. “She always has a smile on her face and is ready to help wherever needed.”
Martin said the best part about working at Cass Regional is the people, from her co-workers to the patients. “I enjoy getting to interact with everyone and knowing that we have a hardworking, dedicated team that works together to feed the patients and staff delicious food,” said Martin.
Martin resides in Garden City. She has four grown children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, and driving around enjoying nature.
As Employees of the Quarter, Cantrell and Martin each received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, a cake and balloons.
