Justin James, technology support technician, was named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2020. Chief Executive Officer Chris Lang made the announcement Tuesday, January 19.
“I was shocked,” said James regarding the recognition. “I was pretty shaky for the next few minutes as Mr. Lang read over the nomination form. I’m super grateful for it!”
James, who has worked at Cass Regional for nearly two years, was nominated by a fellow employee. He was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.
The nomination letter described James as kind, diligent and attentive. “Justin is consistently polite, respectful and helpful, as well as very knowledgeable in many areas. I feel he is an exemplary employee who has demonstrated our values in every interaction I have had with him, and I have witnessed the same with others.”
James said there are many reasons why he loves working at Cass Regional Medical Center. “The best part about working at Cass Regional is the family environment,” said James. “It’s awesome to walk in each day and be able to work with the people I do. It’s a fun environment and we get along just like a family would.”
When asked what his favorite part about his specific job is, he said, “Being able to work with the different technology and programs. I love being able to show people new ways to work with their computers and to make life that much easier.”
James first started getting into technology at the age of 12. His sophomore year in high school, he went to the state competition for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and placed third in Information Technology out of about 500 students. He then went on to work as an electronics associate at Walmart and a support technician at a local computer shop. He also started his own website development company before deciding to apply at Cass Regional.
James lives in Clinton. In his spare time, he likes spending time with his niece and nephew, gaming, singing, and roller blading.
As Employee of the Quarter, James receives a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, a cake and balloons.
