Tonya Preston, physical therapy assistant, was named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employee of the Quarter award for the third quarter of 2018. Chief Executive Officer Chris Lang made the announcement Monday, October 22, during a reception.
“I was very surprised! It was a wonderful honor to be nominated and chosen,” Preston said.
Preston, who has been a Cass Regional employee for 17 years, was nominated by a fellow employee at Cass Regional. Preston was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.
The nomination letter described Preston as positive, upbeat and very committed. “She is always committed to helping her patients get better and reach their therapy goals. She is very pleasant, kind and is always encouraging her patients.”
Preston said the best part about working at Cass Regional is that it is a friendly environment. “My co-workers and patients are a pleasure to work with,” said Preston. Before coming to work at Cass Regional, Preston was a student with LifeWell Services, Inc., and when John Hoffman, PT, had an opening for a PTA, he recruited Preston. LifeWell Services, Inc., was later purchased by the hospital and Preston became an employee of Cass Regional.
Preston resides in Harrisonville with her husband, Jason, and her daughter, Kaitlin. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family and friends and being outdoors.
As Employee of the Quarter, Preston received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, an Employee of the Quarter crystal star award, a cake and balloons.
