Harrisonville, MO — September 17, 2025 — Cass Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that its Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has been recognized as one of the top performers in the Kansas City region by Saint Luke’s Health System.

Each year, Saint Luke’s Health System tracks outpatient cardiac rehab referrals across Kansas City and surrounding areas, recognizing the top 20 programs. In 2024, Cass Regional received 36 referrals, with 30 patients attending at least one session—an impressive 83% referral rate. This outstanding achievement placed Cass Regional third highest in enrollment among the top 20 programs in Kansas City and the surrounding areas.

“It is an honor to serve these patients, many of whom return to our hospital for post-care following a major cardiac event. Our team is committed to starting patients in Cardiac Rehab as quickly as possible, understanding the vital role it plays in healing and secondary prevention,” says Terry Johns, Cardiac Rehab Manager. “We will continue striving for excellence in the care we provide to our community,”

Cass Regional offers a nationally certified, medically supervised Cardiac Rehabilitation program designed for individuals with coronary artery disease or those recovering from events such as a heart attack, heart surgery, stent placement, valve replacement, congestive heart failure, LVAD implantation, or heart transplant. The program combines structured, progressive exercise with education on reducing cardiac risk factors, helping patients return to active, productive lives.

The program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, ensuring the highest standards of care. To schedule an appointment, call (816) 380-5888, ext. 3200.
