Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation awards Spring scholarships
Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation recently awarded $14,400 in scholarships to ten area students who are pursuing health care careers.
Kelsi Mainard of Creighton, MO, was selected to receive the $1,600 Dr. Harold E. Kirsch Memorial Scholarship. She works part time as a technician in the Emergency Department at Cass Regional. Mainard is pursuing a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Central Missouri.
Chris Obersteadt of Lee’s Summit, MO, was selected to receive the $1,500 Cass Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship. Obersteadt is currently a pre-medical student and is pursuing a degree in molecular biology from Rockhurst University.
Addison Billings of Harrisonville, MO, was selected to receive the $2,500 Terry and Susie Reardon Scholarship. Billings is slated to graduate from Harrisonville High School in May 2025. After graduation, she is planning to obtain her registered nurse licensure from State Fair Community College - Clinton Campus.
Roberto Chavez of Harrisonville, MO, was selected to receive the $1,000 Alma Brown Scholarship. Chavez is slated to graduate from Harrisonville High School in May 2025. After graduation, he is planning to pursue a degree to become a physican assistant from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Julia Cox of Raymore, MO, was selected to receive the $500 Dr. Gail G. Kroenke Memorial Scholarship. Cox is slated to graduate from Raymore-Peculiar High School in May 2025. After graduation, she is planning to purse a degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Kansas.
Ben Strautch of Adrian, MO, was selected to receive the $500 Sonny and Toni Wiseman Scholarship. He works full time as a registered nurse in the Emergeny Department at Cass Regional. Strautch is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northwest Missouri State University.
Brooke Truman of Belton, MO, was selected to receive the $1,000 John K. Hoffman Memorial Scholarship. Truman is pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy from Rockhurst University.
Rileigh Beavers of Belton, MO, was selected to receive the $1,800 Franceline Parris Scholarship. Beavers works full time as a technician in the Emergency Department at Cass Regional. Beavers is planning to obtain her registered nurse licensure from Crowder College.
Ella Crain of Pleasant Hill, MO, was selected to receive the $1,000 Wanda Brown Scholarship and $1,000 Irene H. Webster Pippitt Scholarship. Crain is slated to graduate from Pleasant Hill High School in May 2025. After graduation, she is planning to obtain her registered nurse licensure.
Caia Underwood of Pleasant Hill, MO, was selected to receive the $2,000 Jan Perry Scholarship. Underwood is slated to graduate from Pleasant Hill High School in May 2025. After graduation, she is planning to obtain her registered nurse licensure from John Brown University.
Since its start in 1989, Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation has awarded over $254,000 in scholarships and helped more than 210 individuals achieve their educational goals.
