Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation raises nearly $18,000 for the Patient Assistance Fund
HARRSIONVILLE, MO – This October, the volunteer board of the Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation organized the 15th Annual Celebration Basket Raffle benefitting the Cass Regional Patient Assistance Fund.
The raffle took place Oct. 20 – 24 at Cass Regional Medical Center, and drew members from the community to support the cause. Participants were able to enter to win 23 individual ‘baskets’ or gifts, ranging from a Blackstone Griddle and accessories, to a Bluetooth compatible jukebox. In total, the event raised nearly $18,000 to support the Patient Assistance Fund.
Each item was donated by Cass Regional employees and volunteers, community groups or local businesses. The money raised will go directly to supporting patients of Cass Regional Medical Center.

This event simply would not have been possible without the generosity of those who donated the incredible baskets, or the volunteers who tirelessly set up, sold tickets, and tore down each day. Many of those same volunteers turned around and worked their regular shifts at the front reception desk afterward—an inspiring reflection of the heart of Cass.”
Throughout the year, the case management team, which consists of nurses and social workers, determine when to use these funds for patient needs related to care, such as medicine, home care supplies, transportation and certain therapies. Since the fund started in 2005, donors have provided over $185,000 in assistance to more than 1,800 patients.

Through the charitable support of its donors, the foundation administers programs that make lives better for Cass Regional’s patients, staff, and the greater community. Foundation projects that have made a positive impact include funding for medical equipment; funding for construction of the medical center’s Emergency Department, Chapel, and Healing Garden; scholarship programs, and assistance funds for Cass Regional’s patients and employees. The foundation also supports the maintenance of the Memorial Garden and the Healing Garden on the hospital campus.
