Cass Regional Medical Center Hosts Employee Appreciation Dinner
Cass Regional Medical Center employees gathered Saturday, May 7, for the 2022 Employee Appreciation Dinner and awards event at The Beck Event Space in Harrisonville. Fifty-one employees were recognized for their years of service that totaled 615 years, and other annual awards were also presented.
The Employee Relations Team selected and presented the annual award for Employee of the Year. This year’s recipient was Hannah Politte, buyer, from the Materials Management department.
The annual Dave Paxton Customer Service Award was presented to Dee Nickle, nutrition aid, from the Dietary department. Annually, Cass Regional employees have the opportunity to nominate and then vote for who they believe best demonstrates outstanding customer service principles and skills.
The Leadership Team selected and presented the annual award for Manager of the Year. This year’s recipient was the entire management team at Cass Regional. This award is chosen according to set criteria and scoring guidelines based on the organization’s Pillars of Success.
The Great Catch Award was presented to Amanda Murphy, RN, from the Emergency Department. The Great Catch Award encourages staff to recognize and report events, issues, and/or processes that affect workflow and/or have the potential to cause a safety event for staff or patients.
Clinton Seifert, MD, FACS, General Surgery, was honored with the 12th annual Physician Excellence Award. Dr. Seifert was selected by the nursing staff to receive the award along with $500 to give to a charity of his choice. The award was presented by Chief Nursing Officer Jay Sebelien, MBA, BSN, RN .
Daniel Merrifield, ER Tech, from the Emergency Department, was selected by the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff as the recipient of the annual Excellence in Nursing Support Award, which was presented by Chief Nursing Officer Jay Sebelien, MBA, BSN, RN. Merrifield also received $500 to further his education.
Cijie Grah, LPN, from Harrisonville Medical Clinic, was selected by the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff as the recipient of the second annual Nurse of the Year award. She received a plaque and flowers.
