Renee Erwin, front office coordinator at The Wound Center at Rock Haven Specialty Clinic and Rebecca Marconett, LPN at Garden City Medical Clinic, were named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employees of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2018. Chief Executive Officer Chris Lang made the announcement Wednesday, August 22, during a reception.

Erwin, who has been a Cass Regional employee for sixteen years, was nominated by several employees including Casey Hallstrom, Director of the Wound Center at Rock Haven Specialty Clinic. Erwin was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.

“I was surprised and thankful when they called my name,” Erwin said.

The nomination letters described Erwin as a dedicated, compassionate employee who is an asset to Cass Regional. “She always does what is right for the patient, investigates issues and resolves them in a timely manner; and is always coming up with ideas to make our patient care process more effective,” said Hallstrom.

Erwin said the best part about working at Cass Regional is the team of people that she works with. “We all have the same goal in mind, good patient care,” Erwin said.

Erwin resides just outside of Harrisonville. She has been married to her husband Tom for nearly 27 years and has two children, Jacob and Trevor. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hunting and fishing.

Marconett, who has been a Cass Regional employee since 2014, was nominated by Lindsey Bush, clinic manager. Marconett was also selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.

“I was surprised when I found out I was Employee of the Quarter! I was very honored to have been nominated,” Marconett said.

The nomination letter described Marconett as friendly, welcoming and a dedicated employee. “She is always focused on helping the patient first. She looks at her to-do’s as a challenge and always exceeds and goes above and beyond. She does an excellent job of speaking and treating all patients with the respect they deserve,” said Bush.

Marconett said the best part about working at Cass Regional is the environment and the people she gets to work with.

“The best part of my job is getting to interact with the patients and being able to help them improve their health. It's nice to be able to have that relationship where the patients know you by name and you know them, their families, and what health issues they are dealing with. I also really enjoy the group of ladies I get to work with,” said Marconett.

Marconett resides just outside of Garden City with her husband Michael and their two fur babies. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, spoiling her nieces and nephew, and anything fitness related.

As Employees of the Quarter, Erwin and Marconett each received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, an Employee of the Quarter crystal star award, a cake and balloons.
