Higgs Named Employee of the Quarter at Cass Regional Medical Center

Cherah Higgs, MS, CCC-SLP, speech-language pathologist, was recently named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2024. Chief Executive Officer Chris Lang made the announcement during a reception.

“I was surprised and honored to have been nominated,” said Higgs regarding the recognition. “There are so many outstanding employees here at Cass Regional who deserve to be recognized, but I appreciate the love and support I have received from my manager, my peers and the organization as a whole. Together we make Cass a great place to receive care.”

Higgs, who has worked at Cass Regional for six years, was nominated by her manager. She was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and values.

The nomination letter described Higgs as kind, dedicated and hard-working. “Cherah is a kind-hearted person and shows kindness to her patients and her co-workers on a daily basis.”

Higgs said the best part about working at Cass Regional is her rehab team. “The amount of experience and expertise in our department is pretty incredible,” she said. “I have been so blessed by them personally and professionally.”

Higgs lives in Raymore, she has been married to her husband Colt for 12 years. They have three sons, Brody, Easton and Hudson. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, spending time with family and watching her boys play ball.

As Employee of the Quarter, Higgs received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, a cake and flowers.
