Lewis and Spence Recognized for Excellence
Cass Regional Medical Center physician Aaron Lewis, MD, and nurse Jamie Spence, RN, BSN, received annual awards on May 9 during Cass Regional's Nurses Week celebration.
Dr. Lewis, who specializes in radiology, was honored with the ninth annual Physician Excellence Award. Dr. Lewis was selected by the nursing staff to receive the award along with $500 to give to a charity of his choice. The award was presented by Chief Nursing Officer Twila Buckner, RN, BSN, MBA, NE-BC.
Comments made by nurses who nominated Dr. Lewis include: “Dr. Lewis is a great physician to learn from and work alongside.”
Spence, a nurse in the intensive care unit, was selected by the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff as the recipient of the ninth annual Excellence in Nursing award, which was presented by Chief of Staff Christopher Maxwell, MD. Spence also received $500 to further her education.
Spence’s nomination letter read: “Jamie always has the most caring attitude and is the best patient advocate.”
Following the award ceremony, a reception was held to honor the recipients as well as all the Cass Regional nursing staff.
