Overturf named Employee of the Third Quarter
Harrisonville, MO – October 1, 2025 – Cass Regional Medical Center recently announced the winner of the Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2025. Chief Executive Officer Chris Lang announced that charge nurse Michelle Overturf, RN, was the winner of the honor during a reception at the hospital on Sept. 30.
Overturf, who works full-time in the emergency department, was nominated for the award by her colleague, who wrote: “Michelle treats every patient with kindness and empathy, no matter their social standing. Prisoners, psychiatrics, elderly and children all receive impeccable care. They feel that they are the most important person in the Emergency Room under her care.”
She lives in Archie, Mo. and has a one son, two nieces and one nephew, and two great nephews – many of whom came to the reception to surprise her.
“I was shocked [to have won] as I was led to believe that it was someone else that had won and I had lied to her to get her up to the conference room for her surprise,” Overturf said when asked about her feelings on the award. “I am very humbled by all the kind words that were said about me, and very appreciative of all the kindness shared my way.”
Overturf began working at Cass Regional in 2014 after encouragement from a friend on the staff. Her favorite part of working at Cass Regional is working with a “terrific team” and the family atmosphere among employees, in addition to taking care of others.
In her free time, Overturf enjoys soccer trips with her son and traveling with her best friends.
As Employee of the Quarter, Overturf receives a designated parking space for the quarter, a paid day off of work and an Employee of the Quarter pin.
