Peculiar Charitable Foundation donation assists patients, provides trail funding
Mary Dobson, president of Peculiar Charitable Foundation, recently presented a donation of $10,000 to Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation to support the organization’s Patient Assistance Fund, and to help fund construction of The Floyd and Franceline Parris Community Trail on land behind the Cass Regional campus.
The Patient Assistance Fund is used to assist disadvantaged Cass Regional patients with urgently needed items such as transportation, medication, and home care supplies. The fund also provides assistance with certain therapies, such as physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes education and wound care.
The Floyd and Franceline Parris Community Trail is slated for construction later this year. When completed, it will consist of two quarter-mile loops that will wind through a natural setting. The trail will be paved, allowing access for those who use assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs.
“We are very grateful to Peculiar Charitable Foundation for their generous support of the Patient Assistance Fund and The Floyd and Franceline Parris Community Trail,” said Sonya McLelland, administrative director of Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation. “Peculiar Charitable Foundation has been a key partner in our mission for many years, providing funding for the construction of Cass Regional Medical Center, equipment for our cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs, and for our Patient Assistance Fund. We greatly appreciate their continued investment in the health and wellbeing of area residents.”
