Final Update on Ransomware Attack
Harrisonville, Mo. – Cass Regional Medical Center received confirmation late last week that no protected health information (PHI) was accessed, copied or removed from its systems following the July 9 ransomware attack on the organization’s information technology infrastructure.
“We have been working with third-party cyber forensics experts since the attack to evaluate the potential compromise of sensitive information, specifically PHI,” said Chris Lang, CEO. “Forensic tools have been run on all our computers and servers, evaluating significant amounts of data in order to determine whether a compromise occurred. This process was able to confirm our initial assessment that no patient data had been breached.”
“All of us at Cass Regional are very glad to have a positive resolution to the situation,” Lang added. “We again thank our area communities for their support over the past few weeks.”
