Naomi Rhodes, RN, CEN, was named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2019. Chief Nursing Officer Twila Buckner made the announcement Thursday, January 30, during a reception.

“Initially, I thought I was in trouble,” said Rhodes. “I was very surprised and honored all at once, and thought there must be a mistake. I even pinched myself,” she said.

Rhodes, who has been a Cass Regional employee for 13 years, was nominated by fellow employees. Rhodes was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.

The nomination letters described Rhodes as dedicated, hardworking and kind. “She is dedicated to the emergency department, she works extra when needed and always has a smile on her face.”

Rhodes said there are many reasons why she loves working at Cass Regional Medical Center. “The best part of my job specifically would be all of the people, the patients I care for and the relationships with my co-workers,” said Rhodes.

Before coming to work at Cass Regional, Rhodes was the district nurse for the Harrisonville School District for 10 years. She resides in Pleasant Hill with her fiancé, Doug Homan, and has four daughters, Cara Jo Durham, Kindred Orpin, Kai Wesemann and Courtney Wesemann. She also has a “bonus daughter,” Anessia Scott. She has one granddaughter who is nine months old named Lofton and another grandbaby on the way.

In her spare time, Rhodes enjoys riding her motorcycle with Doug, camping, traveling, gardening and watching sports. “Believe it or not, I really love to work,” said Rhodes.

As Employee of the Quarter, Rhodes received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, a cake and balloons.
