Karen Roberts was named Cass Regional Medical Center's Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2019. Administrative Director of Practice Management Patty Land made the announcement Monday, August 5, during a reception. Roberts works at Peculiar Medical Clinic as a medical receptionist.

“When I found out I was chosen for employee of the quarter, I felt very humbled,” Roberts said.

Roberts, who has been a Cass Regional employee for four years, was nominated by fellow employees at Cass Regional. Roberts was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing Cass Regional’s mission and vision.

The nomination letters described Roberts as very upbeat and happy. “She brings joy to our clinic! She is the first person that our patients see and she makes a huge difference.”

Roberts said there are a lot of reasons why she loves working at Peculiar Medical Clinic. “I get to work with friends; they are all people I admire. The best part about my job is helping our patients. I hope and pray that I can be helpful, encouraging and bring a smile to their face,” said Roberts.

Before coming to work at Cass Regional, Roberts worked for the Harrisonville Early Childhood Center as a focus facilitator/paraprofessional for 12 years. “I loved working with children. Those students taught me a lot and that position really helped me learn more about life and how to treat others. We can all learn from the little ones in our world,” said Roberts.

Roberts resides in Harrisonville with her husband, Drew, and their two children, Caleb and Micaela. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, playing cards and games. She also loves to cook, and is very involved in her church, Eagle Creek Church.

As Employee of the Quarter, Roberts received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, an Employee of the Quarter pin, an Employee of the Quarter crystal star award, a cake and balloons.
