New ambulance transfer service at Cass Regional

Cass Regional Medical Center has contracted with American Medical Response, Inc. (AMR), to provide patient transport services from Cass Regional Medical Center, primarily working with Emergency Department patients and inpatients whose conditions require transfer to another health care facility. An AMR ambulance, as well as a crew consisting of one paramedic and one emergency medical technician, is now stationed on the Cass Regional campus and conducts transfers within a 60-mile radius of the medical center.

"Increased emergency calls and staffing challenges for our local EMS agencies have resulted in longer wait times for patients who need to be transferred from Cass Regional," said Chris Lang, CEO. "We are glad to be able to partner with AMR in this manner to help shorten those wait times."

When possible, Harrisonville EMS will continue to provide transport services from Cass Regional when a patient's condition is critical.

"We support Cass Regional's partnership with AMR," said Harrisonville City Administrator Brad Ratliff. "This is another way both Cass Regional and Harrisonville EMS work together to provide quality care for our community."
