New Mills Center bell installed
Anita Keele was the first patient to ring the new bell in the Mills Cancer and Rheumatology Center! Keele celebrated the end of her treatment in November 2024 with the nurses and staff who took care of her during her cancer journey.
The bell was purchased with funds donated to the Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation by Bill Mills, of Harrisonville. In 2021, Mills made a $250,000 pledge to support the construction of the Mills Cancer and Rheumatology Center, and the remainder of his gift has been used to purchase the bell and patient amenities such as televisions for the infusion rooms.
Expanding cancer care availability
Cass Regional is pleased to announce a new agreement with MidAmerica Cancer Care, which expands oncology coverage in the Mills Cancer and Rheumatology Center to five days per week.
The same cancer care team, led by oncologist/hematologist Jaswinder Singh, MD, will offer an additional clinic day in the Mills Center.

Inspiring milestone
In February, Stanley Gunnels attended his 500th pulmonary rehab appointment. "Stanley is an inspiration to many of our patients," said Christine Graves, respiratory therapist. "They can't believe he is 90 years old and continues to come to rehab."
